Gaia Reborn
Gaia Reborn, the hottest MMORPG of the last decade, has seen millions of players experience its unique world - a combination of fantasy and reality. When Gaia Reborn was a game, one goal was to make the game world a one-half scale model of the real world. This pursuit was known as the Half-Gaia Project, and it is one of the aspects which led to Gaia Reborn becoming such a popular virtual world. With regional servers having unique areas, quests, cities, and monsters, it wasn't uncommon for people to create alternate characters on other servers to experience what felt like an entirely new game.
Ten years after the game's launch, millions of players have joined and created countless characters across the many servers. Now, with the release of the latest expansion, Pioneers of Arcadia, many are getting ready to begin new adventures in the new Italian server, exploring the new region corresponding to Italy, known in Gaia as Italia. Characters would have to start from fresh in this new world, but Italy would finally get its own piece of this world.
Countless players created their characters, logged in with excitement fueling their hands as the cursor swept across the screen, and then... darkness... Everything was black, and as their eyes opened, the players found themselves in the streets of an unfamiliar city. Looking around to survey their surroundings, many players realized this city was not so new after all. While desolate and ruined, the architecture conquered by vines and greenery, this city was unmistakably Rome, but at the same time, it was not. Finding themselves in the bodies of their characters, trapped in the world of Gaia Reborn, players are left to adapt to their new reality in this fantasy world.
SidO looked at the robed figure he'd just caught up to on the streets of Tivoli, an Adventurer known as Spectre. He saw that the robed adventurer looked a bit uneasy. Uh is he okay?. Alright, now to make a good impression and sell him on this quest. But before he could say anything, he could feel the hand of a suave man in a suit and top hat. It was his friend Lucius. As he proceeded to make a delivery that SidO would've found a bit over the top.
He sighs and looks on at the exchange between Spectre and Lucius with a smile. Heh. Yea, other worldly extraordinary, passionate, right. Accompany to Romalia yea. . Man Lucius does interrupt me a lot. Classic. Not that I mind, he does talk nice. He turns to Spectre. "Yea what Lucius said. You heard the details of that Baron's quest right? You can get rewarded too I'm sure if you help. You're not too busy are you? Also.. Are you okay? You looked a bit uncomfortable."
Olivia looked around the streets of Tivoli after a long night of staring at the stars and thinking about what she wants to do here she feels like she hasen't done anthything fun in a long time,she can hear the sound of the night the birds and the wind blowing in her hair, She sees a robed figure and a player called sid0 amd Lucius but forgets this and walks past and sits on the side of the street overhearing the converstation.
she overhears sid0 and Lucius talking about ''Barons quest'' after hearing this she runs over to the pair and shouts ''Oi chaps what ya talkin about?!''
If it was one thing he disliked more than anyone disturbing him during his busy time was someone blocking his path before they disturb him. It wasn't made any better as he stared at the dark-haired teenager and a young man who seemed to be a poor man's version of that tuxedo man from that magical girl show. He wasn't in a good mood right because one, he wanted to rest and two, he couldn't stand the sunlight piercing through his exposed skin right now.
When SidO asked if he was okay, he growled in annoyance and glared at them with his red eyes. "Do I look like I'm okay for you?!" He snapped before he took a deep breath. "Look, I heard of that arrogant Lander's "quest", but I'm not interested. I'm just here to gather information about our current situation right now and I'm not in a mood to stay here for long."
But after he said this, he suddenly felt faint as he tried to walk away, but he ended up stumbling and lost balance as he fell on the ground, which caused his hood to fall off, which revealed his dark unkempt hair and his pale skin.

Lucius watched as the pale man fell, putting his fingers on his chin. That pale skin, crimson eyes… and do I see a hint of fangs as he speaks?
“I wonder…” he murmured and poked himself gently on the forehead. He could indeed feel uncomfortable pressure. Thus, he decided to focus and managed to open his third eye. The world immediately felt more complete to him - as if his vision expanded, and yet stayed the same. So it seems one’s race really does affect their physical body. That would, indeed, be a problem for the Nozgor. The summoner blinked once, twice and a third time, and then slowly turned to look at the oncoming girl, Olivia.
“Interesting. Anyways, my young, juvenile lady… we are simply trying to find a man that could represent the Adventurer kind of heroes in this world. We thought a bigger search party could prove useful. However…” He walked towards the fallen Spellblade and offered him a hand. “We shan’t force you to do anything. Freedom is the unique privilege we possess right now, and neither me nor my enchanting companion wish to take that away. I do believe, however, that traveling with us would be beneficial to you as well, good sir. We could trek through more concealed stretches of land and shield you from the gaze of Landers. Not to mention… you might be thirsty.” Lucius said with a slight smile as he tapped his own throat. Gaining allies was important to him now. One man alone cannot find someone in a district as big as Romalia.
“To tell you the truth, I have no interest in the so-called ‘quest’, my friends. However, there is much to be gained from deepening our relations with the Lander elite. After all, we are all still lost and confused, no?” He asked the question he knew the answer to - that no one had an answer. If they did, it would have already made waves across the entire district, but most people were panicking at best. Assessing the situation and taking immediate steps - Lucius liked that approach, even if it delayed his desire to explore this world of beauty and opportunity. After all, beauty could be found in more than just travels.
SidO was a taken aback as he saw Spectre snap at him and Lucius. Ah. I guess we came on a little too hard.. But was even more shocked as he saw him stumble and fall on the ground. "Ah-" He runs to Spectre's side and kneels beside him, while Lucius speaks.
He turns to Lucius at the mention of "Nozgor". "Wait! You mean the Vampire people? Ah I should've known when I saw that under his status screen. All this sun is probably killing him.." He then turns and looks at Spectre. "Ah. Sorry if we came on as a bit too pushy, but we gotta get you somewhere inside. And in this situation, I think my friend is right. We gotta stick together. We can carry you if you're okay with that." word count: 134 total word count: 134 + 172
Olivia walked over slowly after saying this and saw Lucius looking at her walking over "what ya staring at love" Olivia winks at Lucius and smiles,But then she saw the robed figure hit the ground.. she rushes over to help as she got closer she saw the name Specture On her player interface, She grabbed one side of specture and helped Sid0 ''sorry to come rushin over...i saw him fall so i thought i would come and help the lad'' Olivia looked down blushing after saying this.
Olivia looked at the ground and saw the robe and assumed it was just used for fashion purposes but then she saw that is was used to protect Specture from the sun as he was the Vampire people as sid0 just mentioned.
Well, he didn't bother hiding his race in public after all. Yet he was still annoyed at this reveal because he has now exposed to the sunlight thanks to the players' interference. Even the lady's help wasn't helping his mood, though he appreciated it. "I can walk by myself just fine." Despite his words, when he tried to walk by himself, he stumbled again before he fell again on their arms. "Dammit... Me and my big mouth."
As the white magician reject wondered if he was hungry while he pointed on his neck, he became reluctant at what he was trying to suggest. Just like any vampire in media and legends, he had to drink blood so he could survive in the sun for a while and it didn't make it better since he had to drink them from a live target. So while it was necessary for him to survive in daylight, he was still uncomfortable at feeding humans in his Nozgarim body.
"I'm good, uh... Lucius. Just lead me to a nearby shade and I think I'll be fine." While he wondered if being in a shade might recover his strength, he was wondering at the magician reject's offer as he hummed in thought. "You have a good point. For starters, I have doubts regarding these Landers. For one thing, are they really the same NPCs that we know from that Gaia Reborn game?"

“How noble of you.” Lucius winked with his middle eye at Olivia’s remark as he watched them help the young Nozgor up. As they did, however, he noticed that the nearby Landers were giving them strange looks. If Lucius remembered the game’s lore correctly, a lot of people were superstitiously afraid of this particular race. They had to retreat if they did not want to sour their impression of them any more.
“As you wish, brave Spellblade, though I do not mind losing a little bit of blood,” he remarked as he scanned their surroundings for a proper, sheltered location. “It seems we truly do occupy the bodies we have created, with all their quirks and needs, after all. SidO and… Olivia. Would you be so kind and help me escort the gent under the awning over there?” The summoner pointed at a side street with a tent-like structure over it, providing a nice shade for any passersby. As he strode forward, he gave a charming smile to a group of ladies passing by them, eliciting a cacophony of giggles.
“‘Tis a good observation, Spectre. One look into their eyes, and they are nothing like the NPCs we were used to. There is a spark of beauty, passion and love. All hallmarks of actual life.” He talked, adding his own observations to the pile. “T’would imply that we are not in a mere simulation, or another world shaped by Gaia Reborn. Indeed… one could argue that it was the game that was shaped after this particular… reality.” Lucius used the last word with reluctance. He had a few theories of his own, but none of them had all the answers, and he did not wish to bother himself with them too much. He cared not to ponder on the nature of the miracle that bestowed upon him this gift.
“That is, indeed, not what we should be concerned with now. We must secure our own existence first. This ‘Mareum’ fellow sounds like a good starting point, considering the Lander nobility already seems to hold him in high regard. Higher regard than the rest of us, at any rate. So, what say you two? Would you care to join us in this… ‘quest’, frivolous though it may sound?” He asked and looked at both Olivia and Spectre, with all three of his eyes. What a strange feeling.

Aminatu hesitated with an uneasy expression outside the penumbral mouth of the cave, shifting her gaze this way and that as she looked for any sign of activity. It was uncommon for her to traverse territory in which she wouldn’t hold a tactical advantage of having her gallant steed, Anhur by her side to aid her. There would be no comforts of companionship to quell the fears that swelled within the knight’s chest. The sheer darkness put her off a little, with the occasional electric blue sparks crackling from mana infused plants making an even sharper feeling of unrest swirl within her mind. She fondled the oil-soaked torch at her belt, considering her next move.
The labyrinth was eerily silent, not even insect sounds permeated the stagnant hush. The shifting of Anhur’s weight from one leg to another rustled some loose rocks in the earth, the small noise seemed extremely loud in the pocket of quiet. The winged Enoch out a thoughtful suspiration, checking the area around the entrance. A damp mist wove between her feet, masking the ground above the wetter areas of the leaking tunnel. There was no sign of recent movement around the cave, though the environment itself was near perfect for foul creatures. The cave was without any light, not even the odd brazier smoldered in the entrance, as was sometimes typical where small covens were involved.
The surrounding trees of the thick forest provided much cover, and had made the cave difficult to find, though the path to Romalia was faster through these old mines. It should have been ideal for a kobold, but she couldn’t see the faintest sign of one. Aminatu gathered herself. She had her prized Khopesh that she had acquired as a gift from the House of At-Rabiah. The weight of the hilt allowed her to handle it with a fair amount of ease and the edge was fairly sharp. Other than that, it held no special attributes or qualities of significance. In her left arm, there was a steel Heliopolite shield that she held at the ready close to the center of her chest. For a brief moment, she placed her weapon in her other hand, while she withdrew and lit the single torch she carried, retrieving the weapon afterwards, returning it to it’s royal blue scabbard, which was embroidered with golden lacing. She took a last breath of the outside air, held the torch ahead of her in her left hand, and ventured in.
Aside from what little the torch could light, the cave was utterly black. No lights burned within, and no sun permeated the thick, unbroken earth walls. Aminatu had to stoop for the initial ending tunnel, which rather than descending into the earth at any point kept fairly level. Eventually, the ceiling lifted away, and she crept on hesitantly. She was used to at least a little light, even in caves and dungeons. Its utter absence kept conjuring images of things lingering in the dark, and the occasional paranoia that she was surrounded by foul creatures, just out of reach of this torch…
The thunderous sound of hooves echoed throughout the cavern stirring unseen creatures awake as voices deep within chattered in unknown tongues. The keepers of this cave had been alerted to the nomads presence. With sharp tenacity, Aminatu cracked at the reins and used her legs to stir Anhur into ramping up his speed as she charged through. The sinuous cries of the kobold horde rang out as they made futile attempts to chase after the escaping rider. When their misshapen legs couldn’t keep up, they tried to pelt her with rocks. The high mobility of the Cavalier allowed her to outmaneuver and evade most of their vicious assault as she kept moving onward. Chunks of stone collided with her shield, pieces of debris rang off her Heliopolite armor, and as the earth shattered against Anhur’s side, the ebony steed whined in frustration, galloping as fast as his hooves could sprint.
Aminatu led no assault against the kobold horde. Aggressive as they may be, she knew she took a risk entering their territory, but as she stalked the adventurers that spoke with the Baron after they departed Tivoli, she decided to cut through the woods on horseback to try to head them off and ensure the all watchful Eye of Horus was upon these strange otherworldly visitors. Fountains of light emerged from the other end of the tunnel and Anhur and Aminatu found freedom and safety in it’s light.

“I wonder if you came in need of Isis’s peace or have come to wield Anhur’s rage? The winds of the dunes tells me that you desire one or the other. There is no place in-between.”
At Lucius's behest, SidO lent down by Spectre's right to carry him over his shoulder. "Alright buddy. I gotcha." SidO lifts him up and turns to Olivia. "Can you get the other side?"
He looks to Lucius as he points toward a tent like structure, and starts carrying Spectre toward it. He listens to Lucius chime on. The game is now our reality yea. Finding Mareum and getting any info he knows would help. He turns to Olivia and Spectre after Lucius finishes. "Eh. I think you should join us Spectre, this Mareum guy could know some important things. And well Olivia I dunno how invested you're in this, but I can promise there probably will be some sort of reward. Unless that Baron was lying to screw us over." word count: 130 total word count: 130 + 134 + 172
Olivia blushes after Lucius winked with his strange middle eye but she quickly smiled and gave him a thumbs up, Olivia then turns to answear sid0 "sure i dont mind!" Olivia grabs the otherside of Spectre, Olivia noticed some people staring at them but continued to move Spectre inside the tent Lucius suggested they take spectre.
As they were walking Olivia Listened to Lucius talk about the game is now our reality and finding Mareum and getting info he knows would help,Olivia listened carefully to what he was saying.Olivia then turns to answear Sid0's question "Iam invested as much as you lads are!, i cook you chums so lovely food if ya hungry and i can use my healin magic too if needed ofc!" Olivia smiles after she said this she was exited to!
Once they managed to drag Spectre under the tent, it took a while for him to catch his breath as he felt his strength was returning. It wasn't as effective as the first option, but it was enough to get himself up to his feet again. That aside, what SidO and the magician reject said was true. He still has doubts if this Maruem guy knew everything about their predicament, but it was the only solution if they wanted to know more about this world and its similarities to the Gaia Reborn game.
"I fear the latter that you've mentioned, but I guess I have no choice for this matter." As much as he hated this, it might be better than going around asking and interviewing any notable Landers randomly. "However, on the condition that once this "quest" is over, you will leave me be to my other matters. We might come together to investigate our current situation, but that doesn't mean we're all friends immediately." What he suggested was a bit harsh, but his perspective in friendship was to prove their trust without any hidden malice behind their motives. So he still couldn't trust these players until he saw it otherwise.

“Marvellous.” Lucius closed all of his eyes with a satisfied smile. After a few seconds of silence, he opened just the regular two eyes and brought up the user interface. If he could see the menu and status, he could probably do other things as well, like in the old Gaia Reborn. With a few elegant strokes, he tried to invite everyone to a party - quite successfully. Interesting. So while our bodies are very real, some game functions appear to have been transferred over. Less as a game function, but… magic of its own kind, different from the regular kind.
“Naturally, we have no desire to force this on you, my dear Spellblade. I just believe this to be the most efficient course of action.” With a satisfied nod, he smiled at Spectre again. “Now then, I suggest we wait ‘til evening before our departure. T'would be prudent to do so, and to start our mission after that.” The summoner suggested. Sure, they were travelling with a Nozgor. However, to Lucius, that was only a secondary concern. The primary concern was, naturally, the fact that he had not seen the roads and nature under the cover of the night, and the mystique and danger intrigued him.
“Not to mention, I would love to have a taste of lady Olivia’s delicious cooking.” He added, shooting her another smile. “Food is, after all, one of the most delightful instruments of displaying beauty. Good food, a bottle of wine and an evening is made fine, indeed.”

Welcome to the help dialog for the Custom Mini-Profile Creator plugin!
Click on any of the tabs above to go through the plugin configuration process!
You can access this menu at any time by clicking on the icon in the bottom right bar (may not be applicable if you're on Forums.net), or you can disable the welcome window and/or the icon by going to Plugins > Manage > Custom Mini-Profile Creator and changing the Show Help option.
This step is essential as it gives the plugin everything it needs on the page to get as much profile information as possible.
To make the profile variables work you'll need to add a new line to the very end of Themes > Layout Templates > Mini-Profile and paste the code below on it. The code should be placed completely outside of the mini-profile, so if you're using the default mini-profile template this will be after the very last closing </div> tag. This needs to be done on every theme you have the plugin enabled on as the template is theme-specific.
If your mini-profile template is already customized and you've hit the variable limit for your template you're free to remove any lines from the code below if they contain information that you don't plan on using. For example, if you have no plans to ever add a user's IP to their mini-profile for staff reference you can remove <div class="mp-info ip">$[user.ip]</div> from the code and everything else will still work just fine.
Once you've added the HTML from the Layout Templates tab you're ready to move on to building your mini-profiles. If you want to get going and try some out now or you're not very adept at HTML, CSS, or Javascript, worry not! This plugin includes some examples for you to try out. You're free to skip to the Custom Profile Fields tab and read over this tab later when you're ready to build your own.
Here's a quick rundown of each of the components in Plugins > Manage > Custom Mini-Profile Creator:
Name This is the name you'll be adding to your custom profile field dropdown once you've finished coding the mini-profile. Pretty self-explanatory. Make sure this name is unique from every other name you use for your mini-profiles or you'll end up overwriting the earlier ones in the list.
HTML This is the HTML that will go inside your mini-profile. You can use just about any HTML tag here so long as it's appropriate for where the mini-profile is showing on the page. Please refrain from using <style> or <script> tags here. You have the next two sections for that! Also, remember that mini-profiles can show multiple times on the same page, so you shouldn't add ID attributes to any of your elements here. Two elements on the same page cannot have the same ID per HTML standards.
CSS This is where you'll place what would normally go in your forum's style sheet or what would normally be between <style> tags. Try to code your mini-profile's HTML in a way that will allow you to target it specifically with your selectors. For example, you can surround all of the content in your HTML with a <div> element with a class and target that class and its child elements specifically with your CSS. That way you don't accidentally target every mini-profile on the page with CSS that was meant for the one you're building. One more thing: The forum theme's CSS still applies beforehand, so your mini-profile may look right in one theme but not in another. The best way to circumvent this is to define as many styles as you can to override the theme's CSS.
Javascript Anything that normally goes between <script> tags will go here. This one's a bit tricky since you'll obviously want to target the custom mini-profile specifically. Luckily there's an easy way to do that. In your statements you can use the $(this) variable to target the mini-profile if you're coding using jQuery. Otherwise, if you only plan on using standard Javascript you can target $(this)[0] instead.
Once you've finished building your mini-profiles it's finally time to add them to the Edit Profile page for use! To enable selection of custom mini-profiles you'll first need to add two specific custom profile fields in Members > Custom Profile Fields in your forum's admin area:
Mini-Profile Theme
Staff Mini-Profile Theme
Mini-Profile Theme is for mini-profiles that are designed for member use. You can set the Who Can Edit option for this field to Staff With Power if you only want staff to be able to choose mini-profiles for users. Otherwise, if you want members to freely be able to choose their own mini-profiles you can choose Members and Staff With Power.
Staff Mini-Profile Theme is for mini-profiles designed specifically for staff use. This field is completely optional.
Set the type for both of these fields as Drop Down Selection. Click on the (View/Edit) link to add mini-profile names to each of these fields.
If you've just installed this plugin you should have three different mini-profiles already installed by default: Example 1, Example 2, and Example 3. You can add these to your dropdowns to test them out and see the plugin in action.
If you're having trouble getting this plugin to work despite following the instructions in the previous tabs you may want to check that each of your themes meets the prerequisites below in Themes > Layout Templates > Mini-Profile.
First, ensure that opening tag of your mini-profile template includes the $[miniprofile_class] variable in its class. On the default ProBoards theme it should look something like this:
<div class="$[miniprofile_class]">
Next, make sure that the default {foreach} loop for custom fields is present inside your mini-profile. It doesn't need to be visible, so you're free to add it inside a hidden element if you don't plan on displaying it or if it would mess up the appearance of your own custom template.
Beyond that you can do whatever you like to the mini-profile template for the most part and it shouldn't negatively impact the plugin.
The following is a list of available variables for use in the HTML section of the mini-profile creator and their definitions. Adding any of these to a mini-profile will generate the content described in its definition in place of the variable so long as the information that variable outputs is visible to you.
To reference your forum's custom profile fields you can use $[user.customfieldname], substituting "customfieldname" with your custom field's name. You'll need to type the name in all lowercase with no spaces and only use characters A-Z and 0-9.
For example, Mini-Profile Theme becomes $[user.miniprofiletheme]. This will output the value of the custom field. In the case of this example, it'll be the name of the mini-profile theme you've chosen in your profile.
IMPORTANT NOTE: These will only work if you followed the steps in the Installation tab of this window on each of your themes. Any themes that do not include the template code specified there will not have these variables replaced in the mini-profile.

You can utilize the $(this) variable in the Javascript component to target the mini-profile <div> element. For example, if you wanted to add a class to the mini-profile you can use:
$(this).addClass('class-name-here');
Profile variables can also be used in the Javascript component in this plugin. In Javascript the value undefined is used to signify that a value doesn't exist for the variable you've specified. With this in mind you can use profile variables in Javascript conditional statements within the plugin similar to how they're used in the actual layout templates section of the admin area.
if(variable) will only run if the variable you specify has a value.
if(!variable) will only run if the variable you specify has no value.
Example 1 (variable has value):
if(user.group){
$(this).find('.group').show();
}
If the user has their group displayed in their profile the above Javascript would make the HTML below visible if you had it hidden with CSS.
