Gaia Reborn
Gaia Reborn, the hottest MMORPG of the last decade, has seen millions of players experience its unique world - a combination of fantasy and reality. When Gaia Reborn was a game, one goal was to make the game world a one-half scale model of the real world. This pursuit was known as the Half-Gaia Project, and it is one of the aspects which led to Gaia Reborn becoming such a popular virtual world. With regional servers having unique areas, quests, cities, and monsters, it wasn't uncommon for people to create alternate characters on other servers to experience what felt like an entirely new game.
Ten years after the game's launch, millions of players have joined and created countless characters across the many servers. Now, with the release of the latest expansion, Pioneers of Arcadia, many are getting ready to begin new adventures in the new Italian server, exploring the new region corresponding to Italy, known in Gaia as Italia. Characters would have to start from fresh in this new world, but Italy would finally get its own piece of this world.
Countless players created their characters, logged in with excitement fueling their hands as the cursor swept across the screen, and then... darkness... Everything was black, and as their eyes opened, the players found themselves in the streets of an unfamiliar city. Looking around to survey their surroundings, many players realized this city was not so new after all. While desolate and ruined, the architecture conquered by vines and greenery, this city was unmistakably Rome, but at the same time, it was not. Finding themselves in the bodies of their characters, trapped in the world of Gaia Reborn, players are left to adapt to their new reality in this fantasy world.
Ciriodhul’s muscles were aching, when he woke up early in the morning of his third day of being a member of Astra. Due to unforeseen circumstances he and his newfound guildmates happened to venture into the catacombs below Romalia to rescue a beloved priest called Father Gabriel. He was still physically and mentally worn out from his first true combat encounters as a proper support. God bless the little fox girl cleric, who had been able to repair the mistakes he did. Although his body was screaming at him to rather sleep in today, there was a lot he had to do as Astra’s housekeeper, since he had had to neglect his chores yesterday. Unable to properly stand up he tried to force himself to roll out of the bed, when he had to suddenly realize that Sola was still sleeping next to him. It wasn’t easy to get accustomed to sharing a bed with a tiny cat girl spirit looking like your lost love. Startled Ciriodhul was somewhat able to catch Sola with his right hand and roll over her without landing on her. To his dismay he instead rolled straight over the edge of the bed and painfully fell on his back, while he gently pressed Sola onto his chest. “That’s one interesting way of waking up a girl, Casanova. You would probably knock yourself out while play-wrestling.”, the cat girl complained drowsy and yet already with a surprisingly sharp tongue. “I’m sorry”, the shaman said sheepishly and unable to argue in his current state, “Are you okay?” “I guess. Can we do it again? It felt kind of cozy before we fell and actually still kind of does.” He felt Sola’s cheek rubbing against his chest. Her catlike behaviour was terrifyingly accurate. “I’d rather not fall out of the bed again.”, he replied and stood up, while Sola floated up into the air and sat down on his shoulder. “There is also something I want to take care of today as early as possible.”
Ciriodhul could smell the sweetness of the morning dew, while he made his way alongside the Aniene river to his right and Romalia’s outer wall to his left. If his hunch was right, he should be able to find a water mill close to the guild hall this way. His goal was to negotiate a deal for a steady flour supply for Astra, ideally of both wheat and rye including the barrels to properly store it. Without a true chef he was currently the best cook of the guild because of his Housekeeping Aptitude and baking fresh bread on the regular should be easy to do on the side, while he was taking care of the other household chores. It indeed did not take long for Ciriodhul to find a small mill between the north-eastern and northern gate of the city. Its waterwheel creaked happily with every rotation and you could hear the grinding stones milling from quite a distance away. The shaman was greeted by a young miller’s assistant busy with loading flour sacks onto a handcart. “How can I help you?”, the black-haired dog Faunri asked short-spoken while putting another sack into the cart. “If you wish to speak to the old man, just go inside. I have to deliver these to the market as soon as possible.” “Of course, I don’t want to disturb your work, and thank you.”, Ciriodhul replied timidly and watched the assistant take off with his handcart. He was already unsure, whether it had been a good idea to just trouble a random little mill with his request instead of buying some flour on the market. He was already about to turn back, when he heard an old bearish voice behind him: “Good morning, young man. I see that you’ve already made the acquaintance with my assistant Carlo. Don’t worry. I am just an old miller. My name’s Borgos. May I know yours?” The voice belonged to a middle-aged human man wearing a large white apron and sporting a big full beard, which had already turned white in some areas, or maybe it was just flour. Startled, Ciriodhul turned around and immediately bowed. Now he had no other option left but doing what he came here for. “I am Ciriodhul, currently housekeeper of Orion’s Villa, formerly known as Balthazar’s Watch. It’s nice to meet you, Miller Borgos.” “A housekeeper of a villa bowing down to a mere miller of Romalia’s outskirts? You are either taking the inherent politeness of your profession too seriously or you are not from here. I’ve heard that Balthazar’s Watch had been bought by one of these so called Adventurers. I guess you are one of them as well. How can I help you?” “I came here on behalf of the guild Astra and the current inhabitants of Orion’s Villa. I wanted to ask, whether you would be able to directly supply us with wheat and rye flour from now on. Buying it on the market inside the city would be quite inefficient in the long term compared to how close the mills of this river are.” “Hmmm”, Borgos paused for a bit, before he replied, “the building you are speaking of lies on Carlo’s way into the city anyways. It should not be a problem for him to regularly deliver some sacks of flour to your doorstep for the right amount of gold.” After some spirit assisted haggling, Ciriodhul struck a deal with Borgos, which would hopefully fulfill Astra’s need for flour. With the help of Sola’s charming side, they were even able to persuade Borgos to sell them two old casks for storing the flour.
It was around noon, when Ciriodhul and Sola leisurely walked towards the big park area filled with old abandoned churches, temples and entrances to Romalia’s catacombs dividing the market and crafting district. On the market Ciriodhul had bought everything he needed to fulfill his duties as a housekeeper for the next few days at least, including some fresh vegetables for tonight’s dinner. The only thing left on his to-do-list in Romalia was finding a place, where soap was made and maybe buying some strong lye. This would obviously help with deep-cleaning the building, but his actual reason to look for lye was different. He wanted to try and bake German-style pretzels. If this world was going to become his home, he wanted at least something reminding him of his former life, if only to not forget the friends he had lost. Before he and Sola could leave the market district and follow the main street through the park into the crafting district, however, their way was obstructed by a young black-haired dog Faunri arguing with a guard. “Please, I beg you. You have to help me look for her! She always comes back in time!”, said the Faunri and fell down on his knees. “I’m sure, she’ll be back soon.”, the guard replied and tried to get away from the Faunri, who was holding his leg. “Look, she’s not even an hour late. I can’t just mobilize my comrades on just a hunch. We have a lot of work to do. Why don’t you ask some of these immortals? They seem to take every stupid job.” And with those words he released his leg from the Faunri’s grasp with a quick kick into the air in front of him and swiftly walked past Ciriodhul. On a second look, Ciriodhul recognized the dog Faunri still kneeling on the street in front of him. It was miller Borgos’ assistant Carlo he had met in the early morning. From what he could understand the young man was in some kind of predicament, possibly because a woman or girl important to him had gone missing. At least Carlo seemed to believe that. “Should I call Maruem and the others?”, Ciriodhul asked himself, but before he could find an answer, he realized that Sola had already left his shoulder and was approaching the dog boy. The shaman sighed. According to the guard the matter wasn’t that serious, so bothering his guild mates, especially after yesterday’s events, seemed rather unnecessary at the moment anyways. “Are you going to help Carlo now or not?”, Sola asked him, while she was sitting down between the Faunri’s dog ears on his head. “On my way... My name is Ciriodhul and the person on your head is my spirit Sola. May we be of assistance?”, he introduced them and kneeled down in front of Carlo, who was frozen in shock by the sudden sensation on his head. “You are that guy from this morning. And you are an immortal as well? Simply offering your assistance?”, Carlo replied slowly with a skeptical undertone to his voice and regained his composure. “Yes. That is correct. I hope, I am not bothering you again.” “No, no, not at all!”, the Faunri shouted and clutched Ciriodhul’s right hand, his skepticism had vanished. “I need help finding my younger sister. You see, we have agreed that I always check on her after my early round of delivering flour to our clients on the market district, but today she wasn’t home. So I waited and waited and she wasn’t there an hour later. She has never been that late! I think something happened to her. You see, we are living in a small room in a house on the border of the market district, right next to the park and close to some old ruins of a temple or something like that. She often goes there to play, when I am away. What if she found an entrance into the catacombs or a part of the ruins collapsed on top of her? I was there to look for her and found a staircase leading somewhere below the ruins, but I could not find the courage to go down into the darkness myself. It is said that monsters hide in the catacombs and all citizens are advised to not go down there. Please, help me. You are immortal anyways. So it doesn’t matter for you if it’s dangerous, right?” Ciriodhul did not have to think long about the Faunri’s request. As a member of Astra it was now his duty to help those in need and he could not bear the thought of tarnishing his guild’s and Maruem’s honor, although he did not know of how much use he could be to the Faunri. He still vividly remembered his first death and all the mistakes he had made yesterday. “What’s her name?”, he asked. “Alea.” “As the housekeeper of Astra I swear to you, that I will do everything in my might to find Alea. And I have the feeling that I am not the only adventurer here willing to help you.”

Olivia was stressed and tried with carrying around cookie ingredients but she was looking for people to try them and try all the flavors she had made..she smiled and got up from sitting down after a long day of handing out free samples of her cookies for everyone to try She took a deep breath and walked on toward the Crafting and market areas, it was a nice day, hot not too windy,A bird then swooped down in front of her and turned its head to the side ''huh? what do you want bird?!'' another bird landed next to it and turned it head in the same way Olivia looked puzzled and a little scared ''i guess you want some cookies? I Guess for you Too its fine BUT! don't tell your birdy friends!'' Olivia gave 2 cookies to the birds and walked away ''Dam birds always looking for food'' she then found an Inn close to the catacombos area ''ill go in here and sell some cookies to the bar guy and have a couple of ales!'' Olivia rushed into the inn and spoke with the bar man '' HELLOOOOOOOOOO... WOULD YOU like so--ome'' Olivia stopped shouting and turned around to see a bunch of Adventurers looking at her with puzzled looks.
She then Looked down and blushed and quitley asked for an Ale and asked the bar man if he would like to buy any of her cookies ''Ofcourse young lady they look wonderful But may i ask why did you come in shouting like a wild creature?'' Olivia took a golp of her ale ''I was exited to sell my cookies to another inn thats all Im sorry for making scene!'' Olivia Cryed alittle but smiled ''Its Ok! I hope you enjoy your ale!'' Olivia then drunk one more ale and left the inn feeling a bit tipsey but still able to walk.
She The walked slowly toward the market area and crafting area for about 45 minutes (She was walking very slowly sorta like a guy in with cruches) She then found a bench in a park by some old abandoned churches, temples and entrances to Romalia’s catacombs,Olivia sat down and let out a huge Sigh and golped down some water from her pouch '' Ugh what a long day so far..'' She put down her Stuff and walked around for while to let her back rest.While walking around with her head looking at the floor she walked pasted a Blacked hair Faunri and a very strong Adventurer with wonderful Silver hair,Olivia stopped and stared at his hair for a couple of seconds when She noticed the black haired Faunri explaining somthing about his lost sister.
Olivia Jumped in as the Silver haired man said Other Adventurers may be willing to help too ''ILL HE-LL-p!'' She forgot she had a cookie in her mouth.. Olivia then turned around quickly and sorted out the cookie in her mouth ''I'll help you find your little sister!'' Olivia looked down and asked if the boy would like a Cookie ''Hello! would you like a cookie young man'' Olivia gentley patted his head and gave him a cookie and then she turned to the Siliver haired man ''Hello my name is Olivia I would like to help you look for his sister!'' She was blushing when she said this cause she liked his hair alot.
Paulette was awakened by some knocks on her door. She was sleeping at a low cost inn built against Romalia’s rampart. Since the apocalypse took place, she and the other former players had got used to this world. The progress was not obvious but people made friends and stopped panicking. Here and there, some initiatives were suggested and the general level was slowly increasing. Paulette too had made some improvements, she learned the basics rules down there and acclimated well. She was able to earn enough money to eat and sleep at an inn every day. She chose a small establishment next to the city enclosure wall so she would be outside quickly each morning.
At 6am the hotelier was knocking on her door, the purple haired girl was getting dressed then getting down and taking her breakfast, after which she was leaving the place for the day.
A few days before, she had an interesting meeting : a romalian guard came to the inn and asked to see her room. He learned that an adventurer was sleeping there for an indefinite period and thought that was a weird attitude. The new coming Alv had nothing to hide and let him look inside her room but he was still suspicious about her. Since then, each time he saw her, he was testing her with stupid chores. Paulette was gladly accepting those stupid quest because she was rewarded by useful items or money. This guard was named Noa and was very contemptuous against “the immortals” as he was calling them. But now, it looked like Paulette had earned some sort of undeclared respect because he was always using her services.
Until noon, she wandered outside the walls at the seak of plants and berries. She was training her young stallion in a dusty area when Noa came to her
-As always, I find you hanging out doing nothing. If you want to be useful you should go to the abandoned church eastward, there is a dog boy who seems to need help.
He shrugged and watched Paulette’s reaction. She stopped her activity
-To sweep rubbles again ?
-Look, it’s next to the catacombs, you don’t mind going down there since you are immortal
-Catacombs ? I’ve never been in such obscur place, is it dangerous ?
-Why does it matter to you ? Anyway, get out of here ! People are working.
-I am going ! So, a faunri dog boy that I must find ?
Paulette held back a smile “Why is he acting so mean when I can guess he likes my support ?” and walk toward the indicated place.
From afar, Paulette saw three people standing before the abandoned church, fearing her quest opportunity was already over she accelerated her pace toward them. She clearly identified the black faunri, but had no idea of who the two others were. They were engaged in a conversation, the young Alv politely waited her turn to address the faunri, but since they all saw her coming, she looked like an intruder anyways
-I apologize for interrupting you, I am looking for a job someone immortal could do, are you in any distress ?
"Ugh, it's too early to be waking up..." With an irritable expression Steel wouldn't ever let the public see, he cursed his body for waking up so early. Even in real life, he was totally capable of waking up early and often had to due to his work as an idol. However, when he could, he really preferred to sleep in and be lazy. Heck, even when he woke up, he would have stayed in bed and browsed on his phone for a while. In this game like world though, there was no phone to keep his mind entertained. To add on to that, this body of his appeared to disagree with his brain and kept trying to wake him up early much to his displeasure. "The fact that I'm in a body I didn't grow up with is still needing some getting used to..."
Seeing that he wouldn't be able to go back to sleep or even just lay there without becoming bored out of his mind, Steel begrudgingly decided to leave the comforts of the bed in his inn room. Luckily there was something he could do to keep himself busy. Cook himself breakfast.
"It still boggles my mind that the cooking subclass gives food buffs when somebody eats them. Only the weird parts are still like a game." Steel felt glad that he could cook for himself. It'd be heavier on his pockets otherwise. And luckily, the top of the room's heating stove could also double as a cooking stove. Reaching into his inventory, he first grabbed a frying pan and spatula and set them aside. Then he grabbed the eggs, bacon, cheese and bread he bought yesterday and they all looked just as fresh as when he bought them. Thank you time frozen space dimension inventory power. Steel wondered if Landers had such things. He decided to make a simple sandwich as they were easy to eat on the go and making something too complicated sounded like a chore. Not like there was any miso or decent rice he could find. It was all bread and pasta as expected of Italy.
He started with the bacon and then used the resulting grease to cook up the eggs. After putting the eggs and bacon as well as the cheese slices inbetween slices of bread, he took the sandwiches and lightly toasted them, letting the cheese melt into the protein. After all that was done, he put all but one of the sandwiches into his inventory. Grabbing the remaining sandwich, he headed out the door to start the day. And by start the day, that would be wandering around town until he gets pulled into something like usual or barring that, he'd just go out and kill some monsters solo. Aminatu's lessons wouldn't drill themselves into his head after all. The moment he left the door, his tired expression was replaced by a cool one as Yuuto Hayashi the idol partially took over.
It was as usual. While he wasn't of international renown like back at home, he still had the occasional fan come up to him, either for a quick chat or maybe an autograph. Even some Landers had waved to him and greeted him. It was around this time he got caught up in some commotion. He was just finishing his first sandwich when a young lad was begging people to help find his sister. Steel's eyes narrowed when a soldier the boy talked to said to ask an 'immortal' or Adventurer for help. He had heard what a good deal of Landers thought of Adventurers and thoughts about them having it easy over being able to revive were common. Even if they could revive it's not like it made the event of dying any better. The young man, while most likely unintentionally, also thought the same, saying that it didn't matter if it was dangerous for adventurers to the very Adventurer he was asking for help. And still, the silver haired adventurer accepted the request. Perhaps out of duty?
It was then a familiar and a not so familiar face appeared. The familiar face was a druid named Olivia who he had spent time with already. It felt odd not seeing her with Sido though. In his head he saw those two almost like a set. Where one was, the other would follow. That's how it usually was with his interactions with the two. The other one he did not know but both ended up accepting the quest without any further thought. What am I doing? A life is possibly on the line here. I shouldn't be overthinking this! Steel exclaimed in his head as he walked over. "Let's see, a druid, a shaman, and a duelist doing a rescue and then escort mission. Sounds like you could use a tank. Mind if I join in?" He said with a small smile.
It did not take long for Ciriodhul’s guess to become reality. While speaking to the young Faunri man, he had seen some other adventurers in the vicinity observing them. “I’LL HE-LL-p!”, a blue-haired fox girl shouted and came closer, before restating her intentions in a more appropriate volume and immediately offering the dog boy a cookie. She introduced herself as Olivia and purely judging from appearance she most likely was a druid. Although he had foreseen additional helping hands, Ciriodhul was still a bit taken aback by Olivia’s overly familiar demeanor. The same was true for the dog Faunri, who stared at Olivia with a confused look and now a cookie in his hand. The shaman’s spirit Sola on the other hand was pissed off. The little white-haired girl resembling a cat Faunri in school-uniform was now floating above Carlo’s head, after she had been forced to dodge Olivia’s incoming hand, which the fox girl had used to pet the dog Faunri’s hair. Irritated by the druid’s complete disregard of her, she flew around to the back of Olivia’s head, so that she would not be able to notice her if she had not noticed her already, landed with arms crossed and legs dominantly apart on her hair and forcefully stomped down with her bare foot to gain her attention.
“Hey”, Sola said in the deepest and most menacing voice she was capable off, which was still quite high and not really menacing, “I’d say it’s nice to meet you, Olivia, but you almost squished me on that guy’s head. I think, you owe me one of those cookies of yours and some stroking.”
Before Ciriodhul could get involved in Sola’s obviously selfish advances towards the fox girl, another young woman chimed in, who seemed to have politely waited in the background for a short while. Due to her long purple hair being tied up in a ponytail behind her back, the shaman could clearly see her Alven ears and timid facial expression. She addressed Carlo directly and asked whether he was in distress and whether there was a job to do. The Faunri turned his head to face her and replied: “Yes, please. I am looking for my sister Alea. She was playing in some old church’s ruins not far from here and didn’t return.”
“The fox girl next to you and I already promised to look for her. I can only speak for myself, but I would be glad to have your assistance.”, Ciriodhul added, after Carlo had stopped talking. The Faunri was probably surprised by the amount of help offered to him in such a short time.
“Let's see, a druid, a shaman, and a duelist doing a rescue and then escort mission. Sounds like you could use a tank. Mind if I join in?”, said a manly but gentle voice belonging to a blue-eyed human in plate mail with a smile on his lips. The smile reminded Ciriodhul of an old acquaintance. He could tell that it was most likely less genuine than strictly polite. Nevertheless, the shaman was relieved. If they really had to search for Alea in the catacombs under the ruins she had been playing in, a vanguard was a much-needed addition to their party. “Please. It would be a great help.”, Ciriodhul replied as quickly as he was able to shake off his own distrust of polite smiles. The man in front of him had nothing to do with the person the shaman had it mind.
Ciriodhul took a quick look around, whether there was someone else, who seemingly wanted to join in, but could not make out anyone. “It doesn’t seem like we’ll get more people for this search party. Let’s not waste more time and get on our way. Carlo, if you’d lead the way to the ruins you mentioned. We can use the way to get to know each other.” He opened the menu with a quick thought and sent out party invites to the others. “Olivia, Paulette and Steel, hm?”, he mumbled to himself, while his spirit returned to his shoulder.
“Since I was the first at the scene, I am going to start introducing myself: I am Ciriodhul, shaman and housekeeper of Astra. I think my guild master wanted to give me the title ‘the Aurora’; I don’t know, whether that’s formal yet, though. The spirit on my shoulder is Sola. I hope both of us can be of assistance to you all in the upcoming hours.” While speaking the last sentence, Ciriodhul became flustered. Only now he realized, how much of a leadership position he had taken without even thinking. “Uhm, I am sorry for kind of taking over the party leader position for now. I am most likely not qualified, so anyone of you should feel free to take over or we do a vote. I did not mean to order you around. That would be unbecoming of a simple housekeeper like myself. Anyways. The walk might still take a little while, so … Who am I dealing with? I loosely recognize two of you. Did we meet prior to this?” Word Count: 856 Total Word Count: 2656 Tags: OliviaPauletteSteel Notes: I went for an open approach regarding whether Ciriodhul already knows Steel and Olivia. If they already met in the search for maruem, they would have seen each other only for a brief moment anyways, most likely, so it would make sense for Cirio to not recognize them immediately either way.
Olivia was shocked and jumped out her skin after being shouted at by the small Spirit on her shoulder...she opened her eyes after going down into frightened ball of Faunri fur .She looked up slowly at starting Apologiezing to the small Spirit girl "IM SO SORRY ! IM CLUMSY AND--" Oh Olivia please stop shouting when you talk to people"Sorry! I shout when I'm nervous!" She stood up properly and bowed down to the small Spirit ."I'm soo sorry for Missing you! And Ofcourse ill give you the biggest cookie and best cookie I've ever made!" Olivia pulled out her cookie pouch and pulled her best cooked cookies (she spent 18 hours making 9 perfect cookies)" Here you go! Enjoy and your name is sola! That's a really cute name" Olivia then handed Sola a cookie and smiled at her ''I hope you can forgive me!'' (inner thoughts) "Shit I'm being too kind and servert like maybe?..I must look weak" Olivia then smiled and introduced Herself to Sola,Carlos and the Silver haired man Correctly "I think I've met this man before??".
"Hello my name is Olivia I'm a druid and I love cooking and cooking!" (Well done you said cooking twice you stupid fox).
Olivia then turned too see a purple haired woman who also wanted to help find Carlos little sister, she thought her hair was very pretty! she then said to Carlos "Sorry I randomly patted you..I would love to help find your sister! If you would let me?!", Olivia also heard another person say they would help it was one of her friends! Steel!!!! She ran over to him.. going for the biggest Glomp of the Century!.
When she arrived, there were already two person gathered around the dog boy : a faunri and a classy white haired man. Actually, three, or two and half people ? Paulette noticed a fairy-like school cat girl not bigger than a kitten standing, or more accurately flying, between them.
She did well to step into the group discussion : the quest was about to start and the other adventurers welcomed her. At least, the shaman did, the faunri was already engaged in a tumultuous exchange with the fairy. “Maybe they live together ?” supposed Paulette while observing their behaviors. This faunri girl was very cute, having blue hair with pink locks from where fox ears were erected. Something in her cheerfulness let Paulette believe she was a child. “If I was a child and I had the opportunity to live in a world like this one, I would have chosen to be a pink fox with a tiny fairy friend too. They are so cute, I already love them” she smiled.
To answer her, the dog boy explained that her sister disappeared next to some ruins. “He probably asked for help from a guard before turning toward adventurers. Sir Noa thought she might have gone into the catacombs and said it was a mission for immortals. I understand”
-Alea is such a pretty name, I have never heard it before, don’t worry I will help to find her.
The white haired man spoke next to clarify the situation. To his vocabulary and gentle tone, Paulette guessed he had a high position somewhere and went speechless, she just nodded as answer.
A voice behind her made her startle, when she turned back she discovered a tall boy smiling. His blue eyes were acute and he looked sympathetic, he joined the quest in good standing, offering his tank talents. Every adventurer has one combat class that defines their fighting abilities, her brother summarily explained it to her before login in the game, when she was still in front of her computer listening to him. Now that she was left by herself in the game reality, she learned that many former players were according to those classes lots of importance and selected those wisely. The newcomer seemed to be a part of these people as he identified them by their classes where Paulette prefers to acknowledge people by their races. Although, she understood easily what a tank and a druid can do, concerning the shaman and her own class it was more obscure.
The fox girl ran into the blue haired boy's arms shouting his name, no doubt they already knew each other.
After everyone present was finally gathered and ready to start Alea’s search, Paulette mentaly received a quest invitation to which she gladly agreed.
The cat girl fairy sat on the white haired man’s shoulder, correcting Paulette’s previous guess “she’s with him actually” then he spoke again. His name was Ciriodhul and he was “houskeeper of Astra” and was called “the Aurora” by his master. Even if Paulette had no idea whatsoever of the meaning of these titles, it reinforced the man’s prestige in her head “I knew he had a high position somewhere! However, Astra, Aurora and Sola are from the lexical field of astronomy, maybe he belongs to an organisation focused on star study ? Or maybe that’s a monarchical title like the sun king ? Also, that’s not a fairy but a spirit.” The young Alv was taking notes on everything like the good first in the class student she once was. She let him finish talking with respect, he mentioned that he had met two of them before what anguished Paulette. “They already know each other and have a better understanding on combat skills than I, finding my place in this group won’t be easy”
Already putting her last statement away, she took her turn to speak before the others
-I think you should keep our group lead “what should I call him ? He looks young but if he has a high title I cannot call him by his name ?” sir.
The young woman said it, she wasn’t scared to be mistaken but chose the respectful option for now. She turned towards the two others to see if they agreed or not and continued
-My name is Paulette, nice to meet you ! I am a duelist and use a spear, also I look for my little brother everywhere. I highly doubt I’ll find him in a ruin but who knows ? she laughed But I heard the catacombs entrance is located nearby. Maybe this information will be useful for Alea’s search ? What about you, it appears like you know each other
She asked the remaining two adventurers.

Welcome to the help dialog for the Custom Mini-Profile Creator plugin!
Click on any of the tabs above to go through the plugin configuration process!
You can access this menu at any time by clicking on the icon in the bottom right bar (may not be applicable if you're on Forums.net), or you can disable the welcome window and/or the icon by going to Plugins > Manage > Custom Mini-Profile Creator and changing the Show Help option.
This step is essential as it gives the plugin everything it needs on the page to get as much profile information as possible.
To make the profile variables work you'll need to add a new line to the very end of Themes > Layout Templates > Mini-Profile and paste the code below on it. The code should be placed completely outside of the mini-profile, so if you're using the default mini-profile template this will be after the very last closing </div> tag. This needs to be done on every theme you have the plugin enabled on as the template is theme-specific.
If your mini-profile template is already customized and you've hit the variable limit for your template you're free to remove any lines from the code below if they contain information that you don't plan on using. For example, if you have no plans to ever add a user's IP to their mini-profile for staff reference you can remove <div class="mp-info ip">$[user.ip]</div> from the code and everything else will still work just fine.
Once you've added the HTML from the Layout Templates tab you're ready to move on to building your mini-profiles. If you want to get going and try some out now or you're not very adept at HTML, CSS, or Javascript, worry not! This plugin includes some examples for you to try out. You're free to skip to the Custom Profile Fields tab and read over this tab later when you're ready to build your own.
Here's a quick rundown of each of the components in Plugins > Manage > Custom Mini-Profile Creator:
Name This is the name you'll be adding to your custom profile field dropdown once you've finished coding the mini-profile. Pretty self-explanatory. Make sure this name is unique from every other name you use for your mini-profiles or you'll end up overwriting the earlier ones in the list.
HTML This is the HTML that will go inside your mini-profile. You can use just about any HTML tag here so long as it's appropriate for where the mini-profile is showing on the page. Please refrain from using <style> or <script> tags here. You have the next two sections for that! Also, remember that mini-profiles can show multiple times on the same page, so you shouldn't add ID attributes to any of your elements here. Two elements on the same page cannot have the same ID per HTML standards.
CSS This is where you'll place what would normally go in your forum's style sheet or what would normally be between <style> tags. Try to code your mini-profile's HTML in a way that will allow you to target it specifically with your selectors. For example, you can surround all of the content in your HTML with a <div> element with a class and target that class and its child elements specifically with your CSS. That way you don't accidentally target every mini-profile on the page with CSS that was meant for the one you're building. One more thing: The forum theme's CSS still applies beforehand, so your mini-profile may look right in one theme but not in another. The best way to circumvent this is to define as many styles as you can to override the theme's CSS.
Javascript Anything that normally goes between <script> tags will go here. This one's a bit tricky since you'll obviously want to target the custom mini-profile specifically. Luckily there's an easy way to do that. In your statements you can use the $(this) variable to target the mini-profile if you're coding using jQuery. Otherwise, if you only plan on using standard Javascript you can target $(this)[0] instead.
Once you've finished building your mini-profiles it's finally time to add them to the Edit Profile page for use! To enable selection of custom mini-profiles you'll first need to add two specific custom profile fields in Members > Custom Profile Fields in your forum's admin area:
Mini-Profile Theme
Staff Mini-Profile Theme
Mini-Profile Theme is for mini-profiles that are designed for member use. You can set the Who Can Edit option for this field to Staff With Power if you only want staff to be able to choose mini-profiles for users. Otherwise, if you want members to freely be able to choose their own mini-profiles you can choose Members and Staff With Power.
Staff Mini-Profile Theme is for mini-profiles designed specifically for staff use. This field is completely optional.
Set the type for both of these fields as Drop Down Selection. Click on the (View/Edit) link to add mini-profile names to each of these fields.
If you've just installed this plugin you should have three different mini-profiles already installed by default: Example 1, Example 2, and Example 3. You can add these to your dropdowns to test them out and see the plugin in action.
If you're having trouble getting this plugin to work despite following the instructions in the previous tabs you may want to check that each of your themes meets the prerequisites below in Themes > Layout Templates > Mini-Profile.
First, ensure that opening tag of your mini-profile template includes the $[miniprofile_class] variable in its class. On the default ProBoards theme it should look something like this:
<div class="$[miniprofile_class]">
Next, make sure that the default {foreach} loop for custom fields is present inside your mini-profile. It doesn't need to be visible, so you're free to add it inside a hidden element if you don't plan on displaying it or if it would mess up the appearance of your own custom template.
Beyond that you can do whatever you like to the mini-profile template for the most part and it shouldn't negatively impact the plugin.
The following is a list of available variables for use in the HTML section of the mini-profile creator and their definitions. Adding any of these to a mini-profile will generate the content described in its definition in place of the variable so long as the information that variable outputs is visible to you.
To reference your forum's custom profile fields you can use $[user.customfieldname], substituting "customfieldname" with your custom field's name. You'll need to type the name in all lowercase with no spaces and only use characters A-Z and 0-9.
For example, Mini-Profile Theme becomes $[user.miniprofiletheme]. This will output the value of the custom field. In the case of this example, it'll be the name of the mini-profile theme you've chosen in your profile.
IMPORTANT NOTE: These will only work if you followed the steps in the Installation tab of this window on each of your themes. Any themes that do not include the template code specified there will not have these variables replaced in the mini-profile.

You can utilize the $(this) variable in the Javascript component to target the mini-profile <div> element. For example, if you wanted to add a class to the mini-profile you can use:
$(this).addClass('class-name-here');
Profile variables can also be used in the Javascript component in this plugin. In Javascript the value undefined is used to signify that a value doesn't exist for the variable you've specified. With this in mind you can use profile variables in Javascript conditional statements within the plugin similar to how they're used in the actual layout templates section of the admin area.
if(variable) will only run if the variable you specify has a value.
if(!variable) will only run if the variable you specify has no value.
Example 1 (variable has value):
if(user.group){
$(this).find('.group').show();
}
If the user has their group displayed in their profile the above Javascript would make the HTML below visible if you had it hidden with CSS.
