HousingJust like other servers, the Enlightened Republic promised the mechanic of Player & Guild Housing. It was usually seen as a luxury and symbol of wealth while Gaia Reborn was still a game, often meant as a place for friends to meet and play minigames, or for Guilds to store their treasure and discuss raid tactics. However, since the Apocalypse, housing has become something much more tangible - offering the comfort of a real house for one's real body. Most Adventurers must make do by sleeping in one of the hundred inns lining Romalia, Ostia or Tivoli, but for a price one can permanently purchase a Player House in the
Housing District. This District makes up about 1/2th of Romalia with its signature overgrown and slightly ruined buildings, but are all in livable condition. It is fully devoted to housing Adventurers in apartments, bungalows, villas and many other styles of houses. Likewise, a large portion of land outside the walls of Romalia is protected against Monsters and intended to house cabins and villas alike.
Purchase or Construction?Player Houses and Guild Houses alike can be either bought upfront, or constructed. Purchasing a house upfront is simple - you pay the mentioned Gold cost and then permanently own it. If you wish to move house, you must sell your previous House back and regain 50% of the base Gold price.
You can also choose to construct a Player or Guild House. Doing so costs you 25% of the base price in Gold for the land, and another 50% of the base price in Gold worth of Materials that make sense to construct with - wood, bricks, clay, etc. You must make a roleplay thread to construct the house, so have friends help you out in the construction effort!
Player HousingA Player is able to permanently purchase or construct a Player House in the Housing District. These are designed and decorated for the comfortable lifestyle of a few people, much like the average house one would find in the real world. There are three different sizes of Player House, each with their own size.
Small = 500 Gold. A simple apartment room, bungalow, or cabin. It can house up to 2 people and 1 guest.
Medium = 2.000 Gold. A separate house with garden, large cottage, lodge, etc. It can house up to 5 people, and 2 guests.
Large = 10.000 Gold. A classic Italian Villa with many amenities such as a greenhouse, pool and guesthouse. Houses 8 people and 5 guests.
Guild HousingA guild is able to permanently purchase or construct a Guild Hall, or purchase a Landmark as Guild Hall. Guild Halls are much bigger, grander houses that contain basic living amenities and living spaces, but have plenty of empty rooms to re-purpose. The rules are the same as a Player House concerning purchase and construction. A Landmark is any already existing area or location. A guild can thus choose to purchase a plot of forest near the river, the remains of a crashed airplane, an empty warehouse or even the Cathedral. A Guild may not restrict or impose rules upon others that wish to utilize public amenities however, or they will be kicked out without reimbursement.
Small = 2.000 Gold. An apartment, home or private cabin that can host up to 5 members. It includes bedding, shared living quarters, a kitchen/dining room, a bathroom, and one or two rooms for Guild use.
Medium = 5.000 Gold. A three-story row building that can host up to 15 members. It includes bedding, separate living quarters, a kitchen, a dining room, a bathroom, and several rooms for Guild use. For Landmarks, this would be any non-public place that can house up to 15 members such as a moored boat, crashed plane or a portion of the city.
Large = 10.000 Gold. An Italian villa, riad or seven-story building with many separate rooms, amenities, and a large shared garden with plenty shared rooms for lounging, reading, minigames or exercise. It can house up to 40 members. For Landmarks; empty warehouses, abandoned train stations or a small park could work.
Gigantic = 25.000 Gold. A fenced park with several bungalows and houses for the Members, and a Manor for the Guild Leader and their closest Members or friends. You can house up to 100 members here. For Landmarks, you could even purchase the Colosseum or an entire street to yourself!
Housing beyond Romalia
There is nothing stopping Adventurers from building their houses beyond the extend of Romalia. This would waive the 25% price to purchase the plot of Land. However, said houses won't benefit from the Anti-PVP or Anti-Monster field surrounding Romalia, so just like Gaian villages, it is possible for them to incur damage or attacks from Monsters or ill-intentioned Panpaidi.
Acquiring Housing
The process of acquiring a home is pretty straight forward. Once a player or players have enough gold to purchase a home, they can make a thread in the Guild and Housing Center board with the following template.
- <Housing Name> -
Type: <This is the housing size and type. Small Player Housing? Gigantic Guild Housing? Please specify that detail here.>
Price: <How much does that type of housing cost?>
Remaining Gold: <How much gold you will have remaining after the price is deducted from your profile.>
Purchased or Constructed: <Did you plan on purchasing a plot of land to build the housing on? If so specify that here. The construction thread will be linked here once it is completed.>
Owner(s): <Did you purchase this housing on your own? Did you split the cost with another player or players? List anyone who partook in the paying for this housing here.>
Location: <Where is the housing? Is it in the housing district? Is it outside of Romalia? You can be as specific as you'd like with this, just give the players at least a loose understanding of where your housing exists in the world.>
Description: <50 word minimum) You can be as specific as you would like to be with this category, but try to give the players an idea of what they may see when they visit your housing, or what they may hear about it on the way there.>
