Apparent Age: 18
Face Claim: Axey by
oDarkghostoPlayed By: Mr Roboto (Kny)
Faction: Adventurer
- Appearance -
If you had to describe Axey’s appearance in one word, it would be “pink”.
He has pink skin, pink straight shoulder-length hair, pink eyes, pink axolotl gills (although they are not functional), and a pink tail reminiscent of that of a tadpole.
The coloration on his cheeks makes him look as if he’s constantly blushing, making it almost impossible to ever look intimidating, something that his height doesn’t help with either, standing at just a bit over a meter and a half.
If you saw Jorge outside of the game, you’d never guess he’d be the kind to play cute pink characters. After all, who would think a 2 meters tall man that looks like he spends more time at the gym than at home loves roleplaying as a pink axolotl in his spare time?
The massive difference in height between Jorge and Axey is quite troublesome, resulting in Axey seeming very clumsy since the apocalypse despite his normally good hand-eye coordination.
Axey's overall appearance is a complete opposite of that of his friend Atlas, making the duo stand out a lot whenever they travel together, which is quite often.
- Personality -
Despite his real-life appearance, Jorge isn't the kind of person who spends his days at the gym and his nights partying.
In fact, you could say Axey's appearance fits Jorge's personality better than his original body did. What he really enjoyed doing while not studying in college was playing video games.
Jorge had only recently gotten into Gaia Reborn when the apocalypse happened, but he immediately fell in love with the character creation system, and more specifically with the freedom it allowed for the faunri race. The animal selection had it all, ranging from cats, dogs or foxes to obscure things like green herons and Jorge's personal favorite animal: the axolotl.
There was something special about the axolotl for Jorge. Maybe it was the way they look like they're always smiling, or their gills that look like hair, or their cute pink color. Either way, he loved them.
Jorge might come off as distant at first because he barely speaks, but that is because he is simply not used to talking. He was a mute since birth before the apocalypse, and although turning into Axey cured his condition, he hasn’t fully mastered his new vocal chords yet, resulting in lots of voice cracks whenever he tries to make a sentence longer than two or three words.
His favorite way to kill time is to think of and discuss ways to combo certain skills or items for powerful or silly effects, which made him into a good strategist before the apocalypse, and an even better one after it, and not having to rely on typing for communication will certainly help a lot in that department.
- Biography -
Before the apocalypse, Jorge Dupoulet had led a pretty average life save for the fact that he was a mute.
He was born and raised in a French town in the department of Ardèche, and moved to Paris when he was accepted into the Pantheon-Sorbonne University.
Jorge didn't have many friends when growing up, but he was very close to the few he did have.
He took Spanish classes after falling in love with writers such as Borges, Cervantes and Julio Cortázar in order to read their texts in the original versions. It was also through those texts that Jorge was introduced to what would later become his favorite animal of all: the axolotl.
When he moved to Paris, the very first place Jorge visited was the Jardin des Plantes in order to see the axolotls that he had read about in the short story of the same name written by Cortázar. He immediately loved their cute little faces and their pink skin. And after finding Gaia Reborn and noticing the faunri had an axolotl option, the dilemma of which race to choose was immediately solved.
When the new server was launched Jorge and his friends decided to play through whatever new story the devs would have put in together. Sadly, his friends wouldn't be available for a few weeks, so Jorge decided to log in, re-create Axey in the new server then log out while he waited for the others. Little did he know he wouldn't be able to log out.
Despite the fact that he's now trapped in a world where he doesn't know anything or anyone, Jorge can't help but feel like some kind of pioneer exploring uncharted lands in this new world. The apocalypse might not have been so bad after all...

Auto-Attack
A skill that controls the user's body and allows them to automatically target a monster and attempt to basic attack. A skill that controls the user's body and allows them to automatically target a monster and attempt to basic attack. Auto-attack will do a constant chain of attacks so that the total DPS is roughly the same as dealing minor damage once a second. For example, a heavy weapon will do slower but stronger attacks, while a player wielding two daggers will do faster, less damaging attacks.
Any skills or movements that the user may manually perform will take priority over this skill, but the system will generally try to aim for an accurate hit.
It was a staple among players in the original Gaia Reborn game, but since the Apocalypse, its use has taken a drastic drop. Manual basic attacks allow for much more fluid and precise control of attacks, and as such, the skill has barely been used by Adventurers since then. It does, however, allow for people who are not proficient with their weapon of choice to be able to reliably hit their target.
Passively, the player can also delay their next attack to increase the basic attack’s power by performing what’s known as an “empowered attack”. Each second used to charge an attack increases the damage dealt by 20%, up to a maximum of 100% at 5 seconds.
Toggle.
Roads to RomaliaA skill that can be found prominently on the player’s interface. Roads to Romalia allows a player to teleport back to Romalia from any city or town with a cathedral. Activating it causes the user to channel for five seconds, restricting them from doing anything until this cast time is done. If they choose to make any other action or are hit by an attack, Roads to Romalia is interrupted and put on a 1 minute cooldown. Because teleporting in this way to one’s home city essentially breaks them down into raw energy, it is extremely taxing to players after the Apocalypse, and repeated use in a short span can inflict mental and physical strains.
5s cast time, No cooldown. No cost.Interface ControlEven after the Apocalypse, players have kept the ability to use their interfaces. They will hover slightly in front of them, visible only to themselves and slightly transparent, and can be interacted with by pressing on them with one’s fingertips or through thoughts. This allows players to access their friend list, guild settings, crafting list and many other menus. Friend invites can only be sent in a face-to-face meeting, and the same goes for party invites. However, a friend can be added to a party regardless of where they are.
A player can talk to friends or party members through telepathy, by pressing one finger to their ear after dialing them. This causes words said to be spoken into their mind rather than out loud.
A Musician’s Weapon
The Bard can play their Music Skills even without an instrument.
However, wielding one has bonuses. Instruments count as magic weapons that can be used to cast spells or swung to deal damage, albeit very weakly.
Wielding an Instrument alongside a weapon allows access to
Atmospheric Sense, and grants the Bard a
minor Defense Up.
Wielding an Instrument without another weapon activates
Music Focus (and still allows access to Atmospheric Sense), and grants the Bard a
low Defense Up.
If the Bard chooses to play a Music Skill without a weapon equipped, they can not equip a weapon until the skill’s effect has ended.
Passive skill.Atmospheric Sense
If a Bard does not currently have any musical instrument, all Music Skills played are in
Moderato by default.
Bards are sensitive to how the mood can be altered by music, and can choose between three different tempi of playing: Adagio, Moderato and Presto. Many of the Bard’s skills have different effects depending on the tempo at which they are played. Additionally the Bard receives different passives if they change the tempo.
Adagio - The bard receives a
low Mana and Health Regen Up. Cast times are increased by 0.5s and the bard receives a
low Attack Speed Down.
Moderato - Default. No advantages or disadvantages.
Presto - The bard receives a
low Mana and Health regen Down. Cast times are decreased by 0.5s and the bard receives a
low Attack Speed Up.
Passive skill.
Music Focus
When the Bard is solely focusing on their music and therefore only uses an instrument without any other weapon, the party is granted the effect of Music Focus.
Adagio - The party receives a
low Mana and Health Regen Up.
Moderato - The party receives a
low Health Regen and Attack Up.
Presto - The party receives a
low Attack and Attack Speed Up.
Passive skill.
Music Skills
Unlike normal skills, the cooldown of a music skill begins after the music skill has ended or was forced off, rather than after the cast time.
While the Bard is playing a music skill they can fight and use other non-music skills. When they finish the cast of a different music skill, the currently active one will be turned off prematurely and set on cooldown.
Ever since the apocalypse, Bards can play any music they want while performing a Music Skill, playing the effects of the song they mentally selected.
Passive skill.- Rank I -Music Skill: Minnesong of the White Maiden
A song about love and most likely the Bard’s signature buff skill, although its effects are kind of simple. It lasts for up to 10s and affects party members in a radius of 15m.
Adagio: The Bard sings in a melancholic tune about the sorrows and sadnesses of love. All affected party members get a
low Defense and Magic Defense Up.
Moderato: The Bard sings in a cheerful tune about the delights of love. All affected party members get a
low Evasion and Attack Speed Up.
Presto: The Bard sings in a moving tune about the strong bond lovers have. All affected party members get a
low Attack and Magic Attack Up.
2s cast time, 10s cooldown. Low mana cost.
Music Skill: Sonata of the Resonating BeatIncluded after the beta phase, this music skill replaced a much weaker skill called “Resonance Beat” which had seen no usage overall. Playing a tune that shall resemble the heartbeat of all living things alike, the bard stimulates life itself. It lasts up to 7s and affects party members in a radius of 15m.
Adagio: The bard plays a calming tune, meant to relax the body. All affected party members receive a
below-average Healing Received Up.
Moderato: The bard plays a self-conscious tune, meant to increase perception of one’s body. For all affected party members all Down debuffs wear off twice as fast.
Presto: The bard plays an exciting tune, meant to stimulate movement. All affected party members receive a
below-average Movement Speed Up.
2s cast time, 15s cooldown. Low mana cost.Music Skill: Folksong of the Lolloping BunnyOriginally a children’s song, it is most likely the Bard’s signature debuff skill. It’s childish lyrics and a ghost bunny lolloping around the Bard to the rhythm they are playing in brings confusion to the battlefield. It has a maximum duration of 7s and affects enemies in a radius of 20m.
Adagio: The tune makes the Bard’s enemies drowsy. Targets suffer a
low Movement and Evasion Down.
Moderato: The cheerful, childish tune confuses the Bard’s enemies. The targets suffer a
low Accuracy Down, and their resistance level against Confusion, Charm, Fear, Terror and Sleep are lowered one level if they are not Elite or Field Boss monsters (immune becomes resist, which becomes normal, which becomes weak.)
Presto: The ironic, sneering tune enrages the Bard’s enemies. The targets suffer a
below-average Defense Down, but a
minor Attack and Attack Speed Up. While playing this Music Skill in Presto the bard receives a
low Aggro Up as well, so caution is advised.
2s cast time, 15s cooldown. Low mana cost.Prancing AttackA special Bard skill that allows them to safely cast any spell or music skill while in the frontline. The user selects any Music Skill or spell with a cast time of 2s or less after Prancing Attack, and then performs a melee attack of
average power in a 2s animation time. In this same animation time, the Bard is guaranteed to dodge only the first non-skill attack aimed at them. Upon the completion of this 2s animation time, the Bard will instantly complete the cast time of the selected song or spell.
2s animation time, 15s cooldown. Minor mana cost.Instrument Strike
The Bard smashes their instrument with all their might at the enemy and thereby deals
above-average damage, and Stuns the enemy for 1s. This skill is often comboed up with Prancing Attack, known as the “Troll Combo” to first dodge the enemy’s attack to then deliver a stun and retreat again. Even though the damage is above-average, the instrument’s properties make it rather weak.
0.5s animation time, 7s cooldown. Low mana cost.
Oscillating Weapons
A Bard’s music has an effect on their own weapons and causes them to vibrate to the rhythm. The next basic attack a Bard lands after using a Music Skill has an additional effect depending on the tempo the Music Skill was played in.
Adagio: Inflicts an
average Movement Down on the enemy struck for 5s.
Moderato: Boosts the performed basic attack to deal
strong damage instead.
Presto: The enemy suffers an
average Defense Down for 5s.
Passive Skill.
- Rank II -Music Skill: Symphony of the Starbright SirenWhen using this song a blue light resembling a siren will appear above the Bard’s head and sing one of its dreaded songs for 7s, affecting all enemies within a radius of 20m. Different to other Music Skills, this skill puts the Bard in a channel for it’s whole duration, so that they can neither move nor use other skills in that time. If they choose to do so, the channel will be interrupted, and the effect of Symphony of the Starbright Siren ends. Enemies with a lower Magic Defense will receive the negative effects sooner, and for a longer period.
Adagio: The siren sings a lullaby meant to put swimming sailors asleep causing them to drown. After 2s to 6s, the affected enemy is put to Sleep for 5-1s. Attacking an enemy while they are Asleep will wake them up and is a guaranteed Critical Hit.
Moderato: The siren sings it most ensnaring song meant to lure sailors into the wild sea. All enemies in reach of the song will receive a wave-like symbol above their head that fills with a blue color from the left to right over 4 to 6s. When this symbol fills, enemies are
Seduced and forced to harmlessly walk towards the Bard for 3-1s. Furthermore, enemies that have been
Seduced have their Aggro reset on all party members.
Presto: The siren lets out its most terrible scream. At first enemies will hear a beautiful song, but after 3s to 5s, they will hear the scream and are stunned for 4-2s.
3s cast time, 7s channel. 30s cooldown. Above-average mana cost.- Rank III -Oscillating PartyRequires Oscillating Weapons to be learned.Works exactly like
Oscillating Weapons, but not only for the Bard, but every ally who was affected by a Bard’s Music Skill. Multiple debuffs cannot be stacked on the same enemy, but the duration is extended beyond 5s for every application. This passive is great for maximizing the buff potential of the Bard’s Music Skills.
Passive skill, 30s cooldown.- Racial & Talents -Drug MasteryA lifetime of quaffing tonics, sipping potions and handling venoms has steeled the Pharmacist’s veins. Passively, they are healed by an extra 15% from any forms of non-magical healing. Debuffs inflicted on them from any form of poison or venom are reduced by 5s, but not below 5s.
Passive skill.Basic TamingThe Monster Tamer attempts to recruit a Common monster to their cause in order to create a temporary partner. This will not work on Golems, Machines, or Artificial Life Monster Types. This is often done by approaching the monster without startling or aggravating it. If performed successfully, a tamed monster will fight by the Tamer's side for 5 minutes before control is lost and the monster returns to the environment. Certain situations might make this duration last longer or shorter; acts of kindness toward the tamed monster will make it stick around for up to 10 minutes, while excessive demands will make the Tamer quickly lose favor with the monster. Only one monster can be tamed with Basic Taming at a time.
5s animation time, 10m cooldown. No mana cost.
Animal InstinctsThe Faunri’s ears and nose are more sensitive than any other’s. Their perception is greatly increased through their senses of Hearing and Smell.
Regeneration
The Faunri has an enhanced regenerative capacity, to the point where it can even recover limbs with enough time. Passive HP regeneration is doubled, and limbs can be passively regenerated as well, fingers may take a day or two, while a whole limb would take a few weeks.
Hematocryal
Certain Faunri's body temperatures are linked to their surroundings, making them vulnerable to extreme temperatures. Taking Ice or Fire damage causes the Faunri to be afflicted with the
undercooled/
overheated status for 10s or until they take damage of the opposite type. If they already have the
undercooled/
overheated status and are hit by an attack that would inflict the same status, the effect is doubled for 10s. Ice damage in a hot climate and Fire damage in a cold climate both temporarily negate the
undercooled/
overheated status from the environment for 20s.
